what brand of oil do yall use? i have the 2012 6.0L. i believe in using the same brand of oil everytime. valvoline has always been my favorite in my cars.

i understand that 5w30 is the prefered oil for this motor. just looking for yalls thoughts. conventional or 100% synthetic?

this is always a topic of great disscussion. i search but found nothing on here. i may have searched wrong.

I use what wieght is on the cap, i.e 5w-30. I just changed oil in the lumina, I used 5-30 valvoline, it has a slight oil leak which requires a quart about every 6-7 weeks. I usually just use autozone in it.

My 02 Tribute since my daughter had it 4 years at college I use whatever wieght it has labebled I believe 5-20 full synthetic as I knew it wouldn't get the maintenance it needed. I run full shc in it still with a change at 15000, and replace filter at 7500.

Suburban has 180000, I use valvoline high mileage

My 1970 Delta 88 I use valvoline 10-40. That car has a leaking front main. I told myself (have gaskets and both seals) next oil change I was going to drop the pan and fix it, well.....

 

I use 5w30 Mobile 1 full synthetic with a K&N oil filter in my 2004 2500 crew cab. Mobile 1 full synthetic with an AC Delco filter on my 2005 Impala and my wife's 2006 Cadillac STS, and 10w30 valvoline full synthetic with a K&N filter on my 1970 Monte Carlo. I was always a Valvoline guy until I bought my wife a Cadillac which comes from the factory with Mobile 1. Just figured if it's good enough for Cadillac then it's good enough for me too. Next spring the Monte will be switched over to Mobile 1 also.
