Default what trannys fit a 2000 silverado 1500?

hello all, I have a 2000 silverado 1500 4x4. the tranny goes in reverse but not forward at all. I am thinking of buying a used transmission for it but am not sure what years and models will be a direct fit. I am looking at a 1999 c2500 single cab transmission. will that be a direct fit? am not sure. any help would be great. thanks epi

your trans should be a 4l60e a 2500 truck should have the 4l80e and would not fit.

Default 4L60E swap from a 1999 Tahoe to a 2000 silverado

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 4x4 and the transmission lost 3,4,and overdrive,I bought a rebuilt that I was told was an HD rebuild, after installing it I found out it only had first gear,I swapped the servo and then I had first and second, but the fluid went from bright red dex.6 to burnt dark fluid, the guy promised me a new transmission but I never seen him again so I bought a 1999 Tahoe 4x4 for the transmission, now my Silverado has a vortec engine and the Tahoe doesn't,both transmissions are 4L60E's but before I go through the trouble of pulling the tranny out of the Tahoe I sure would like to know if they can be interested,if any body know for sure could you let me know, thanks

Can these two vehicles use the same transmission, can I swap the transmissions with no problems, what I'm trying to say is will everything fit without having to change anything,I know the tranny's on one are quick change lines and the other one isn't but if that's all I will have to change over than I'll be ok with that
