Whine through stock radio

Whine through stock radio

Hey all, on the AM side of my 1989 scottsdale 's stock radio. I get a harsh rpm related whine. Is there a diode or such that is failing or was this par for the course on the delco units? Thanks!

That is an audio tachometer

More likely it is the rfi suppressor on the alternator. A little condenser mounted on the back of the alternator.

Did that fix it? If not, check plugs and make sure they are resistor also could be wrong plug wires.
