Will on go in reverse

Got an '89 Silverado with transmission problems. Will on go in reverse. All gears going forward wont move the truck. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum...
2 or 4 wheel drive?
guessing you have verified fluid level...
make sure the shift linkage is working and shifting the transmission at the same time you are moving the shifter...

Is it a TH350? If so, this was a classic issue for rebuild.
