this morning it started up, son drove to work, parked it had no trouble.
got ready to leave this afternoon started it up, put it in gear and it
died. tried to restart but would not start.(was turning over) called me
I thought that it might be the gas filter. changed the filter and turned
the motor over and it started, bur died after about ten seconds. figured that the gas had not reached the carb yet so i took some gas and poured it in the carb. started right up. was running just fine but when he put it in gear
it died. tried to restart but it would not start. i poured more gas in the carb and it started right up. let it idle for about 1 min then put in rev and it died.
would not start up again till i poured more gas in the carb. ran just fine, reved
it up still ran fine then let it idle for about three min, ran just fine, put it in gear and it died. 94 chevy 1500 silverado 350 automatic

 

sounds like the fuel pump is bad.

 

Thanks for your speedy reply but I replaced the fuel pump about a year ago. it runs fine as long as you dont put it in gear???
