Would you buy?

Would you buy?
2000 Silverado 1500 Z71 5.3L
Has 190,000 miles on engine
1000 miles on rebuilt tranny with 40,000 warranty.
He is asking $3600, which lines up with KBB & NADA.
I am asking because up until now I've never owned a 1/2 ton truck let alone a chevy, and just don't know if this is a decent deal or not. Honestly the high mileage scares me, but I've read a lot of posts about the 5.3L being a beast! This would be my daily driver (mainly highway) and I would use it for smaller towing jobs every now and then.
I need some advice!!! Thanks in advance

If you have to ask...then...
I mean none of us can really know sight unseen? Have you seen it?
If this vehicle was 100k, and was $10k, would you buy it?
Do you have funds to put in a new motor? even a junkyard motor?
Is it rust free? the brake&fuel lines clean of rust? exhaust is good?
Head gaskets don't last forever...
(disclaimer - I'm just speaking in general terms, I know nothing of this vehicle and nothing of you and your situation).

I have to agree.. If you are questioning it that much, it probably isn't the vehicle for you. After you have done your looking and research about a vehicle, if you still have to ask then to me that says your answer is pass.. Good luck

Do you have the maintenance records? A big part of it is, how was the truck maintained.
Were the oil and filters changed regularly? If it was well maintained then there is a good chance it will be a good truck for you. Remember nothing lasts for ever. It has a lot of miles on it. So if you do buy it, you can expect to spend some money on it in the near future. If you can afford to spend more then look for a lower mileage truck.

I have a 2004 Silverado 2wd 5.3L with 120,000 miles on it and one of my good friends has a 2002 Z71 4x4 with 220,000 on his. Both are still goings strong. The 5.3L is indeed a beast -- but MAINTENANCE is of paramount importance.
If they don't have a pile of receipts thicker than the Manhattan phone book, perhaps the truck was not cared for quite as well as it should have been. Just sayin'........
Compared to a Ford or Dodge of similar vintage, it is hard to go wrong with the Chebby.
