Default Z06 cam swap help.

Okay, so I did some research and found that you can swap a Z06 cam into a 5.3 without needing to change a lot of other parts in order for it to work. The only thing I couldn't find is if you need to put different pistons in with reliefs for the valves. Any help would be appreciated.

Why not try a cam where you just need to replace valve springs and rods. And one that'll actually give you hp/tq numbers that would warrant a cam swap? Zo6 cam swaps from what I remember aren't really worth the work

do you have a suggestion for a cam that can be swapped in without doing a lot of other work? and also that is good for a daily driver? cause this truck is my daily driver, for now, and i still want it to be streetable but i want more power.

Do you want to upgrade the torque converter or leave it stock? That plays into cam decision a lot. Bout the biggest if go on a stock converter is 212/218 112lsa and some ls6 yellow springs. Awesome lower end power, great top end, and a good chop.

Would a Comp Cams 212/218 LSX "Low Lift" cam be the same thing pretty much? Not gonna lie I don't really know a lot about cams.

Yes same thing, besides the lsa bein a 114 instead of a 112 anyways. But that'd be perfect for you. Would definitely plan on throwin some upgrades at te transmission. Stall, hd2 shift kit, vette servo and tranny cooler upgrade at the least
