Default V6 tbi spacer

Hello, I have a 94 s10 pickup with the 4.3 tbi engine. They’re not the best when it comes to power but they’re strong motors and I know there is a few minor things you can do to make them a little better. I’ve done the intake, headers, new exhaust system, rebuilt throttle body and injectors. A friend told me about throttle body spacers and said they don’t do much but it helps the engine breath better and keeps the throttle body cooler so for ****s and giggles I installed one. But as soon as I started it to make sure all was good my RPMs shot way up and kept climbing. Not sure why or what happened??

You may wanna take a can of brake clean to the base of the throttle body and the spacer. It sounds like its leaning out. Had a friends motor do that, we found it had an air leak past the intake ports of the throttle body if it revs up when u spray it, you have a leak
