09 aveo lt sedan - paint chipping on bottom of back doors and rocker panels

I have an 09 aveo lt sedan that was gotten using cash for clunkers. August 2009. Now, with almost 8k miles on it and almost 8 months later, the lower part of both back doors and rocker panels have little rock chips in them and the very bottom has no paint at all and is actually starting to get some surface rust. We don't do anything weird to cause this, we don't live on a rock/dirt road or anything either..

Does anybody else have this problem? Or have had? Is it covered under warranty? (Better be..)
It needs an oil change in about 200 miles, my mom (the owner) is going to get a male friend to take it (to the dealership) and talk to them about it. I want to know if anybody else has the problem and what's been done about it, though.
Edit: Sorry about the pictures being so big

all this damaged looks to me that it was caused by the tires throwing stones on the side of the body. Your damage is quite extensive and after your body repair I would suggest to install a good set of large mud flaps to protect the side of your body from future damages. I had a bit of this damages to some of my former cars specially near the back fenders but never like yours. I dout GM will take responsability for this. Good luck.
I took it today for them to "look at it". The guy said that it happens on G6's and equinox's too. He said he'd call the people in charge of warranties and get back to me..
I asked him if it is usually covered (on g6's and equinox's) and he said sometimes.. and it's fairly likely it will be now because the warranty people don't come out anymore (the used to come out and look at it first, but now they don't)

To tell you the truth it is the first time I have seen so much paint damages on a car specially a 2009 like yours. In my old days where some roads were only gravel in the back booney you could see a lots of damaged sides from flying stones thrown by the tires and cracked windshields. This is why I was asking you if you had larges mud flaps. Anyway good lucks in your claims.
Well, a month later. Nothing.
I've called the dealer about 10 times now, he always says that he called her, she wasn't there, she was on vacation, at lunch, busy, etc.
Looks like they aren't going to fix it. Looks like it will be getting repoed before long..

I have the exact same problem. Just not quite as bad but its getting there. Did you ever get this resolved? Was it covered under Warranty? I have a 2011 that I've had for a year and its got 29k on it.
Thanks!

Have you had the vehicle inspected by a technician at your dealer?
