2012 Chevy Sonic
Took my vehicle to get an inspection, when I got in the car, it was completely dead and to make matters worse the key won't come out of the ignition. The steering wheel is not stuck but the car is COMPLETELY DEAD! The guy from Jiffy Lube said it could be the anti-theft system that locked it....
PLEASE HELP!

the shift lock solenoid must be powered to work; so when the battery goes dead it won't work. If its a console shifter, the owners manual should show you how to manually trip the shift lock. usually there is a cover by the shift console that you pry off, stick the key tip in there and the shifter can be moved.
regardless, just get a boost and start the car and then everything will work.
jiffy lube workers aren't tradesmen and typically know squat.
