Cadillac is a car brand...catalytic convertor is an emission component.

the part mentioned as faulty causing a hard start after pumping fuel is the purge solenoid valve.

 

so what if i have already changed the purge valve and still having issues starting?

 

start a new thread in the appropriate section. list the model, year, engine. list the concern....what is happening...not what you think the fix is.

 

I just bought a used 2013 chevy sonic runs great til you get gas and it doesn't want to start. I even tried leaving car running while getting gas but literally the car cuts out as soon as you remove the gas cap.

It starts eventually, then idles at under 1000 RPM and cuts back off again. Wont stay on unless you rev engine.

What wprked for younall with the same issue? Is there a recall that fixes this?

I changed this little bad boy and it fixed all my ailments of sputtering and hard start after getting gas. Also idling. Crazy how a small part would wreck such havoc.

 

im having this same issue and seems to be getting worse, did that part end up taking care of the issue?
