Default Proper engine break in

I just bought a 2008 Chevy Aveo last weekend and wanted to know what some of you recommend for the proper break in procedure for the engine.

Break in periods are much less stringent these days. When you purchase a new vehicle there will be a section in the owners manual about it. Then engine is broken at the factory before it is installed so the need for a 500 mile oil change is now gone. Also varying your speed and not maintaining a steady speed are gone as well. There a few items they want you to do though... just read the owners manual and it will inform you of what those are.

A good long run is said to be the best for a new engine. Let it reach running temp andrun itfor and hour or two.[/align]
