Default 2012 Silverado LTZ Drivetrain Defect

My 2012 LTZ has a serious defect in its drivetrain. The service department of the dealership where I bought the truck suggests the jolt and noise that occurs when changing gears is normal and not outside of Chevrolet's engineering design. Once referred to as "lag" after test driving and confirming the defect, the service experts suggest it drives as a 2012 Silverado LTZ should. Really!? A hard jolt and loud metal-to-metal noise from toward the rear-end is what the engineers at Chevrolet designed into its premium 4x4 trucks!? That is what one dealership's service department experts conclude. And yes, its diagnostic tests reveal no failure. This is a good old fashioned mechanical defect.

Chevrolet Customer Service recommended a second dealership service department evaluate the vehicle. So, the 2012 LTZ went to service, again, but this time to another local dealership's service department. Once again, the defect is plainly obvious to its expert. Again, the expert's conclusion is something along the line of, "well, it drives like the other 2012 trucks we compared it to." As icing on their spin, the concept of a "CLUNK" was introduced by the second dealership expert. They had a "Chevrolet Bulletin" on the subject, so presumable I should accept the defect and enjoy it. Oh yes, the "CLUNK" was described as non-critical...

What a bunch of rubbish! The arbitrary test of and individual's drive comparison is nonsense. The 2012 LTZ jolts and a loud metal-to-metal slam is clearly audible, by every passenger in the truck. Eventually, the repeated metal-to-metal jarring will produce a catastrophic failure.

Does anyone in this forum know what can be done about this defect? Does anyone in this forum know a Chevrolet employee that actually gives a darn about customer satisfaction?
