2018 Chevy spark stick shift.
Issue: the shift lever was loose & gears were not engaging ,indicating a bad shifter cable. The cable was removed ,inspected and compared to another cable side by side. All was good. In the interim, it was noticed the the SHIFT LEVER on top of the transmission was also loose and not accepting engaging any gears.
Typically if a cable breaks, one can put the car into gear from the lever on top of the transmission. In this case nothing happens . This Lever can be moved up or down , side to side & one can't even hear the gears grab when one moves the lever. Really strange.
Any thoughts , ideas ,tips in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks
