Default 01 tahoe heater not working while idle

my heater is only workin when i am drivin. if i sit still it turns cold its the climate control system and when i have it in auto it will start blowin like it has got warm but its cold anyone have any idea why that is and how can i fix it please help thanks

You may have a partially clogged heater core. With the heater on touch both heater hoses and if one is hotter than the other, then you have to unclog the heater core. If they are both hot then it could be a malfunctioning blend door actuator.

your describing a symptom of low coolant or air in the cooling system. If it is low there may be a leak...waterpump gaskets are common.
