02 Suburban difficult to start, goes black when shut off
My 02 suburban in Feb had to jump start it, got it running and a mile later it died and needed to be jumped again. The repast of the 30 mi drive was fine. Several days later it had problems starting again. Cleaned off the oxidized crust from the terminals, battery showed signs it was still strong, and it ran fine, for a while. The battery was about 18 mos old so I suspected the alternator. Sometimes it would try to start, give the rapid clicking sound, try to crank the motor sometimes it would and then goes black.
Changed alternator out last week, old 130 amp Bosch-type for a new one. I was thinking I’m set. Now it won’t start even after I pull and reconnect the battery, same behavior.
So today I got a new battery. Turns over, starts and runs for about 30 secs and dies. When I say it dies, not lights or sounds anywhere. Short of towing it to a mechanic, where do I look next? Pull and check every fuse?
Thanks for any help.

So I couldn’t figure out why my car would shut down and took it to a repair shop. They couldn’t find anything that would keep the car from running or go dark after turning off the motor but they did note the battery cable connections were loose. So make sure your connections are snug after disconnecting the battery. I feel sheepish.
Have the same problem. Have replaced battery, side post terminals, starter, and starter relay. It starts if I play with and spark connections on under hood electrical fuse box with starter relay removed. It's obviously getting a crank code sent, but it's not getting through. I suspect corrosion of the hot lead wire on underside of fuse box. Saw a video where internal issue of fuse box was the problem.
