Default 03 suburan will a 97 suburban transmission work

hi guys

i have a 03 Chevy suburban 4x4 flex fuel, and the transmission is broken finally so i am trying to find another one. i am not sure what year's transmission will fix and work with little to no modifications to the suburban. so my question is will a 460 transmission out of a 97 suburban 4x4(with transfer case) fit or work with little to no problems on my 03 suburban? any help will be greatly helpful i guess you could say

Call a salvage yard they will be able to answer your question with no problem.

Scrape yards have to know so they can maximize sales. They must know which parts will work to sell the correct part. They may not want to help you if you are no buying from them

The 97 was a 5.7L engine where as the 03 is the 5.3l so the bolts and alignment could be different even thou they technically use the same transmission...
That and I suspect the electronic control is going to be different....
I'm thinking for the headaches and hassles I'd look for a 03 to go to your 03...

No, it will not work. That transmission is the 700R4 and only went behind the 5.7 Vortec. Your transmission is totally different. Don't waste anymore of your time.
