quick question so since i have 2 units and both won't move when plugged in wouldn't it be looking like a bad head unit ?
passenger side works other doesn't

That guess is for certain a WAG but is your call. Does your controller look like either of the two links I sent you?

no not the one mine has manual sliders in middle of unit

i just found a video on amazon about a dorman look like and i said about reprograming a unit
turn on ign put fan at 5 press and hold recir and ac buttons for 5sec and let go ever heard of that?
would a scanner tell me any thing ?
my friend has a HF one i have used to clear codes?

Did you try the Amazon reprogramming steps? You tell us about these steps and then ask about a scanner. Like you dismissed the steps instead of trying them. It may work. I have never heard of those steps but that doesn't mean anything. There is a BCM and makes sense that a reprogram may need to be done.
