Default 03 Suburban Brake Problem

Okay, need some help. I have an 03 Suburban 2WD. Two months ago I did a brake job and replaced the rotors and pads all the way around. After a couple of weeks the brakes begin to squeel. It is coming from the driver's rear wheel. It only squeels when light pressure is applied to the brake. I thought the rotor may be bad, so I had it defected and replaced it with a new one and new pads. After a couple of weeks the same problem returns. I began checking and applied the brakes without the caliper on. Only one piston came out, rear has two piston caliper. I could not find anything about the caliper, so I replaced it. Well, two weeks later my same problem returns. I read after searching on-line that the abs sytem on these required bleeding eventhough you did not go in the system. Well I had bled the brakes when I put on the new caliper, so I bled them in the rear again. problem went away, but has now returned. No squeeling, but, grinding noise when braking, sounds like it grabs and lets go. The only other thing I can think of is the brake line may be bad, but the fluid was strong coming out when I bled them.

Get some brake pad treatment and spray it on the rotors or the surface of the brake pads, to eliminate the squeal. The noise is coming from the particles in the pad not the rotor.

squealing is usually caused by the pad vibrating against the rotor and the noise is transfered thru the caliper... I have used Permatex Disc Brake Quiet with great success...
it is applied the the back of the pads and provides insulation for the pad...I use several coats and have never had squeaks....
be sure you are cleaning and lubing the caliper slide pins.

tsalter: Welcome to the forum.

I seem to remember that ABS brakes require a different bleeding procedure but have never done it so not sure.
