Default '03 suburban seat problems

I have a 03 Suburban LT with power seats. Recently the switch to move the drivers seat forward/backward began to operate backwards. I noticed this becuase I had the "easy exit" feature enabled. What happend: I turned the vechicle off and normally the seat moved away from the steering wheel. However, instead of the seat moving away from the steering wheel it moved closer. I have since disabeled the easy exit feature. However, now if I want to adjust the seat forward I must push the button towards the rear .......... If I want to adjust the seat away from the steering wheel I must move the button forward. Both of these are opposite than the passanger seat and how it worked prior to the last few weeks. Also the heated seat feature no longer works on the same seat.
Does anybody have any clues what happened or how to fix this?

Inspect the wiring. It sounds like you have some wires frayed and crossed. I would look in the seat area where movement of the seat could have caused this. If the switch is in the door, then also look where opening and closing the door might have caused ddamage.

This just happened to my 2004 Suburban LT. Dealer says that the seat module needs to be reprogrammed, that it happens all the time, and that it will only cost me $130. What a rip-off! They should do this for free!

My 2004 Suburban LT recently began doing the same thing. I changed the battery a couple of weeks ago but don't know if/why that would cause the seat controls to begin working opposite. Can anyone confirm that the reprogram fixes this issue? Is there a way to switch it back without paying the $130 fee? Could a bad control module cause this problem?
