Default "03" Tahoe 4wd

I have an "03" Tahoe I can count on one hand how many times I've have used the four wheel drive. The other day I noticed the lights were not on I'd try to put it in wheel drive nothing happen with the exception of the messaged center stating service 4wd. I don't misuse this truck I've got a jeep for that. Has anyone run into this issue and what's the fix other than going to the dealer ?

Thanks
Chris

Start with going to your local parts store and have them read the code it should be throwing.

Had the same thing, and no code showed up. In my case, it was the ATC fuse located in fuse box under the hood. If not that, it could also be the 4wd selector switch which is known for problems and can be easily replaced. Next up could be the encoder motor.
