03 Tahoe outside temp sender
03 Tahoe outside temp reading is all over the place. It will read 90 degrees when it is 70. Or some times 30 degrees when it is 70. Sometimes it changes while driving, But not rapidly, Just every once in a while. I think it might be the computer that is at fault. The compass works just fine. But does anyone know were the sending unit is located? Or any other input would be greatly appreciated.

its located behind the front grille at the side of the rad. don't know if its the one on the right or left side....there are 2.
do you have an aftermarket grille or a cover that blocks airflow through the grille.
The temp sensor readings are buffered and updated on a schedule so they may differ from time to time but not to the degree that you describe.

Thanks, I'll look for the senders. I did not know there were two. I guess both have to be working? Or can one fail and still get a correct reading. I wanted to check the wiring to see if I can see anything amiss. As far as I know it is the factory grill. I will look for anything blocking them. I have done some reading on the internet. It seems that the computer or (brain) can fail on just one item and every thing else can work. Is this correct? If so I wonder if it is the computer failure.
Thanks again
