Default 04 Chevy Tahoe Z71 4wd problems

My 4wd will not engage. When shifting from 2 high to 4 high, the light on the buttons blink and appears to switch over to 4wd but I cannot hear it engage and it actually does not engage. So, despite the display saying it is in 4wd, it is not.
When switching from 2 high or 4 high to 4 low, I put it in neutral, hit the button, the light blinks and appears to switch over, I can hear it clunk like it is engaging but again it does not actually engage into 4 low. The display again says it is in 4 low, but it is not. I put it in neutral and hit the 2 high and it clunks to shift to 2 high, the button display now shows 2 high but as mentioned before it was never actually in 4 low to begin with.

I am going to grease up the zerks today and check the ground wire as I have seen mentioned in other threads but checking to see if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Likely actuator motor is gone. That or the TCCM is malfunctioning. Check for loose or corroded wires first however.
