Default 04' Suburban Z71 purchase?

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and might be new to owning a suburban. Thing is I'm not familiar with its relibility at high mileage. The suburban has 167k miles on it and they're asking $4k. If it were a ford i'd have looked the other way in a heartbeat but I hear Chevy is different. So I'm just wondering if its a good idea to buy it? I need something that can fit my family but i dont have allot of money to spend. at the same time i need something that i dont have to worry about when i'm driving my family for 3 hours when i take them out. Thoughts?

It's going to be a ? of its maintenance history. I bought an 03 Z71 with 196K. It's been a good truck. I received all the service records since day 1. Previous owner used only AC/Delco, and certified shop only. So, with that, that's the only blind input I can add.

I agree. If it were well maintained then it will serve you well. I sold my 99 Silverado with 175,000 miles on it. I had that truck for 14 years and changed the oil and filter every 4,000 miles. That truck ran as good when I sold it as it did the day I bought it.
