Default '04 Tahoe Outside Rear View Mirror

At a traffic light I saw a truck like mine and the front side of the mirror was off but the rest was ok. Anyone have any idea how to remove the front side and not damage it ? *BW*

2005 Yukon, last summer Mrs. Cusser ran into some cone and the housing came partially off. I just wiggled it back on and epoxied it back together to operate, still moves electrically as it should.

I will say that aftermarket mirror assemblies are available, and reasonable until one chooses options like heated mirrors. I didn't go that route as the replacement assemblies are all-black, and her other mirror is combination black and white, so something would've required painting going that route.
