Default 06 Tahoe overdrive hesitation

Hello All... I'm a first time Tahoe owner and lovin it so far.
I have a 2006 Tahoe SLT, 55K, 5.3L Here is my question:

Whenever I am coasting at 35 to 75 mph in overdrive, there is a bog-down hesitation when I lightly press the accelerator to maintain speed. No movement in the tach, nor in the speedometer. I can hear it, and I can feel it in the gas pedal, but it's unnoticable to passengers.

If I put my foot into it a bit, no problem. If I drop it down to 3 the problem goes away (but I lose overdrive and rpms go up)

Level highway or climbing hills, it acts the same. Annoying as heck.

Tran fluid is pink and smells new. Owned it 4 months now... still under extended factory warranty. Avoiding dealer involvement until I get a better handle on what it could be.

Is this a normal function of the torque converter to gain better gas mileage? Is this normal for a 2006 Tahoe?

Any and all answers or advice apprecitated.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply... and just as I read your question, I had what I call a BFO. (blinding flash of the obvious). I use cruise a lot on the highway and I can't recall ever noticing a problem in cruise... weird... now I want to run out and try it in cruise control and really pay more attention. I live in the mountains - 30 minutes from flat land. I never use cruise in the mountains... I've been told to use "3" anytime I'm driving the mountains.. but that seems a bit nuts in Colorado!

What would it mean if it does or doesn't do it in cruise control?

(Wish I knew more about Chevy's... been a Doge guy for years.. but love this Tahoe and had to buy it)

It may just be a soft downshift from OD. I would leave in OD all the time unless it starts to "hunt" then go to 3.

If it doesn't do it in cruise, then just drive it and enjoy it.
