When I put a CD into the single disc slot, it begins to make a noise which I can only describe as a whining or humming noise. It is fairly loud as I usually have to turn the music up to drown it out. It usually makes this noise as long as the CD is playing. Any thoughts?

 

they do make a little but of noise, but if it is so loud that you hve to turn the music up to drown it out, then there mustbe a prob internally. Take it in for a new radio

 

The noise level is higher when playing CDs containing MP3s. Maybe when playing MP3s the motor spins faster?
Let me describe how lous is mine. Assume a CD is playing but the volume is on minimum (muted) I can hear the noise until I get to 30+ MPH or 1500+ RPM. Is this what you are experiencing?

 

That is similar to what I'm experiencing but is with any CD. Right after I put the CD in, it begins and it will not stop until the CD begins to eject.

 

I have the same problem with the CD player...very annoying. However I rarely use the CD player so it is extremely obvious when I switch over from XM to playing a CD.
