Default 07 Rear Factory DVD player

When I load a DVD my rear screen works fine. However, when I get in the Tahoe and the DVD restarts the rear screen is blank even though the DVD is playing. If I eject and reload the DVD the rear screen works. Any ideas what is going on?

You have to use the remote to turn on the screen. Hit the red power button and it will be fine...

That does in fact work. Does anyone know if you can power it from the headunit?

See FriscoKid's answer. I've seen this brought up before and no one has come forward with a way to do it. It would be nice feature to have though.
