Default 07 Suburban

My 07 Suburban was rear-ended about two weeks ago. The airbags didn’t deploy, but the front two seatbelts locked up. I have been driving it ever since it happened because the only thing messed up is the outside rear hatch. My question is- is this safe for my 3 kids and I to still be using the vehicle? Since the seatbelts locked up, does that mean the airbag sensors are defective and they could deploy at any time?

Airbag sensors are in the front and sides to protect frontal and side impacts not rear ones.
Only issue would be exhaust fumes being pulled in by the hatch not being sealed. And cops stopping you for broken lights.
Keep the heat / air running and windows up to push air out of the interior. Riding with it off or windows open will pull carbon monoxide inside until you can get it into the shop and fixed.

Good advice, you certainly don't want to put yourself or your children in an unsafe to drive vehicle.

Thank you! The lights all still work, just broken covers. What would be the reason for both front seatbelts locking up? They were not being used at the time of the accident. Also, the airbag light in the dash is on. I am having it completely looked over later this week to fix any major issues.

Belts can lock from the impact shock, sometimes their covers have to be removed to unlock them if they were fully retracted at impact. Just like sometimes on a quick stop they lock and have to be unbuckled to unlock.
Cops still will bug you with broken lenses even if bulbs light up.
