Default Service Air Bags

Topic has been beaten. Couple questions outside of which sensor, module or code.
Is the problem self contained to the SRS? My father had an 05 that developed electrical issues no one could solve. Started with a simple tail light that only worked intermittently and ended with a sunroof that opened and closed randomly on its own with many other issues in between.
Is the Service Air Bags a sign of an electrical system going haywire or remain an isolated issue?
Second, some sources have 2007 to 2013 Silverado listed for recall for the airbags as part of the Takata fiasco. Any information about this?
Thanks

Reason for asking is I bought a 2009 Silverado today and when I stated the truck to pull off the lot the Service Air Bag notification was on. I went back inside the dealership, asked questions and read up on google and in the forums. I was uncomfortable with the situation and got a refund for the truck.
It was a beautiful well maintained Silverado so it was painful but I was not prepared for the potential costs that could come with finding a solution. Didn't help that the issue was not disclosed to me but after bringing it to their attention I learned the service dept had done all they could to fix the issue and were unable to.

an airbag light is not a sign of an electrical system going haywire. With an airbag load tool; finding most airbag problems are routine. the problem can only be a sensor, wiring or module.

Where I am, vehicles with airbag lights on do not pass safety inspections...was the vehicle being sold "as is"

It was an as-is sale. A 90 day warranty was available but I made an out the door offer for what I had to spend. They accepted but without a warranty.
Im in NC where an airbag light will pass inspection.

I had spent the very top end of my budget so the Service Airbag really gave me pause. A diagnostics charge that could lead to a pricy module could pass a thousand dollars. Could be a sensor under the seat but no way for me to know. With all the varying opinions of the severity of the issue I was reading I thought best to play it safe.

That's good that it can only be a sensor, wiring or module. Am I close by thinking the range is 4 to 12 hundred with diagnostics, parts and labor?
