Default 07 Suburban Check engine light on

Hello everyone, My wifes 07 Suburban has a check engine light that decided to pop up and say hello.in the meanwhile, the oil pressure gauge decides to peg at 80 then to 60 and back to 0 when it feels like it. I tried connecting an obd 2 scanner and for some reason it wont link. My friend had an issue with an a sensor that controlled the gauge. He crawled up there and unplugged it while the key was on and the gauge was acting a fool. Has anyone had this problem? if so what is the remedy? It has oil and its a little on the high side. I plan on changing it today, and it it has been running as normal. It has 101xxx on it and we just got it about 2 weeks ago. I figured something would go wrong eventually but not this soon. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum..
If there is no power to the ALDL data link connector check your fuses... I think its the same one the 12v outlets get there power from...
Check the power to pin 16
