Default 07 Tahoe amp question

I have a 07 Tahoe LT3 model.

My question is, do I have an amp or not. I could see the bose name on the tweeters. So I assume I have the Bose system.
I did not get the NAV system with the vehicle.

I was told by a tech from Metra (aftermarket mfr.) to look for codes UQ7 or Y91 in the glove compartment. If I have either one of those then I have an amp. Well my vehicle does not have them. So does that mean I do not have an amp.

On this forum, I see where owners are saying my vehicle comes with an amp.

Can someone please clarify this for me?

Thank You

From what I read on here if you have front bucket seats then you have an amp. I believe it is 250 watts. Not too sure what it powers.

The bass sounds like it comes from under the dash in the bose system.

All LT and LTZ model 2007 come with Bose speakers and external Amp, option code is UQA.
Code Y91 is an option code for a Bose Lux amp found in Denali and Escalade's and UQ7 was the code for the previous model (2006 and older) Bose Speaker/Amp system.

The subwoofer for the Bose speaker system is located in a plastic housing in the front lower portion of the center console.

Thank you for the precise and detailed answer. Now I am sure that I have an amp. Darn, tech guys made me sound like a idiot. They were so confident that I did not have one.[>:]

The sub is a 6.5" dual voice coil speaker and the amp is about 10" long, roughly 5"wide and about 2.5" thick.

if we get to the amp, is it adjustable or is in "computer ballanced" with the bose system. Some songs I can hear the base real good and others it is hard to pick up...

Non adjustable Amp's
Bose sets the equalization for each Amp used in different types of vehicles (Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado and etc) and then GM gives them each a different part number.

The likely reason for the variance in the bass level of songs is a difference in the actual recording, just use the bass adjustment to compensate for this.

But the subwoofer is in back right, as it sounds like the bass is comming from under the dash.
