I started having a gas smell outside my Tahoe after driving. It became steadily worse and then through my vents. I started it after it sat a few days and saw gas pouring down the sides of the tank. I'm guessing at the pump. My question is, can pump be bad? Can it still be good if it's sending gas to engine (since it runs) and a return line is bad?? Wondering if anyone has had the same and what was done to correct the problem. Thanks

 

without seeing exactly whats leaking its hard to say, I've seen a lot of the plastic nipples/fittings break off where the line hooks to the pump module and the only way to fix it was the pump module. It is possible there may just be a crack or leak in the line somewhere though.
