I used to have an03 Denali with 6.0L and I gotabout the same mileage, so "Active Fuel Management" is pretty underwhelming. Can you imagine what the mileage could be if it didn't have it?

This is not a fair comparison.

I have been getting 15.7 mpg in the city (calculated and trip computer have been really close). I have a 2007 Z71 with 4.10 final drive and Magnaflow. Been trying to drive smooth and keeping a light foot on the gas (hard since I like to hear the exhaust). If I can keep a steady pace (~50 mph)on level road the V4 mode is on most of the time.
On the highway, I've been getting 16.7 mpg going 80 to 90 mph. No V4 mode at these speeds. Coming from a 1997 Infiniti QX4 that I lifted and installed mud tires on, the mileage on the new Tahoe is pretty good. The QX4 would only get 13-14 mpg in the city and 15 mpg @ 70 mphon the highway.

I have an 2007 LT1 Tahoe. Current OD reading at 16,500.
On a 4800 mile trip from Florida to Colorado and back I averaged 19.3 going out and 18.5 coming back. Highway speeds 70-75MPH.
Commuting to work, 26 miles each way I average 20.5. Speed anywhere between 30-55 and just a few stop lights.
I get my best milage at 55MPH, around 21MPG.
I've learned how to keep the engine in V4 mode for as many as2-3 miles at a time. The secret - don't be in a hurry, what a revelation huh?

Without the A/C on, I just got my '07 Tahoe to avg. 22 mpg. That's with freeway speed of avg. 65 mph for a 12 miles trip. The roundtrip average for that same stretch of freeway, including some stop-and-go on the way back, I averaged 19.5 mpg. I used the cruise control as much as possible.

The computer milage is normally off by 5 - 10%. Accuarate enough, but not as reliable as hand calculation. Lately my millage has dropped, but seem to average around 12 in town and about 16-17 on the highway.
You must live in your Tahoe with that kind of mileage. Any major issues during those miles jasonw75?
