Default 07 TAHOE NAV ISSUE

Hello everyone. I have an 07 LT1 and installed nav using the tips and tricks from the sticky post. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE AND HELP!!! Anyway, the install went fine & everything including the NAV, DVD, & Voice works perfectly. The radio shuts off properly including the delayed shutoff until you open the door. However, sitting with my vehicle off, and the radio off, I can still hear the map DVD spinning / laser moving. I thought this was weird, so I waited about 2 hours and came back. Still spinning. Has anyone had any issue with this? Is this normal?
Whats even weirder, is when you shut the vehicle off, with the radio on....wait for the radio delay to shut off....then push the power button....wait to start the vehicle for a couple minutes...start it & the radio will turn on in "off". If that makes any sense.
If anyone has any info regarding these issues, it would be greatly appreciated.

I installed one in my LT1. Yes, its normal. Lets say the tahoe sat for a few hours. when you open your door, the drive powers up and gets the data ready to display on the screen when you start up the car. This happens even though you dont put the key in the ignition. If you close the door and just sit in your car without putting the key in the ignition, the drive will power down after a few minutes.

As far as the other issue, I never had that happend to me, but I never hit the power button after the delay as turned everything off either. I might try that later today.

Whew...thanks for the reply. I was concerned it was a power issue. Let me know what you find out about the other deal. Thanks again!

If I understand correctly your asking if...

I've reworded it but see if I am following you;

When you turn the radio off, even if veh isn't on, that when you do start the veh, the radio is off.

Right. If the radio was "on" when you turned the vehicle off, then push the power button, the radio will be "off" when you start the vehicle.
