I searched the forum and I was just wondering if anyone knows the diameter of the stock exhaust tubing for our 2007 Tahoes?

if i went with 3" tubing would that affect it or should i just stick with stock tubing?

 

I put 3" on another vehicle I had and seemed to loose back pressure and some torque. Not sure how it would affect the tahoe.

 

As engine2 has made reference to; most larger or free flowing exhuast systems do two things, one is they change the exhuast note (sound) the other is that they can effect power output, most aftermarket systems simply move the power and torgue higher up the RPM scale and away from normal operating ranges.

An extra 10 or 20 horsepower means very little if the only way to get there is over 6,000 RPM's. How much time you gonna spend up there?

 

So I'd be better off to replace the Muffler back (better sound/no resonator) and leave the rest of the system stock 2 3/4.
