Default 07 Tahoe Transmission Slipping

07 Tahoe 65,000 miles.

Was drving my wifes tahoe and I noticed the transmission slipping. When I get up to about 55 and it shifts into the last gear the RPMs rise and then in shifts. Any ideas what I need to look far?

If the fluid level is ok then you need to look for a new transmission.

Nothing else can be done? Just wondering what new transmission would cost?

check the fluid and if you still need convincing pull the pan and look for metal shavings

as for cost theres about a thousand different routes you could take so its a guessing game until you do some research of what you want

GM parts direct list if for $1600... I'd check a local parts shop for a re-manufactured unit...

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Tahoe vehicle. I agree with the other posters, check the fluid first. The issue you are experiencing may be due to a distressed 2-4 band and/or 3-4 clutch. This is just a suggestion, not a diagnosis.

I recommend having the vehicle inspected by a certified technician for an official diagnosis.

Please keep us posted. If you need additional assistance locating a technician, please PM me your zip code.
