Holy crap! That looks BA. Any feedback to installation ease, noise, and performance? Might have to bag the Volant for one.

The only issue I had was the bump coupler for the MAF. When you take off the MAF from you factory box, leave the adapter on the MAF and insert the bump coupler in the adapter, because it recesses in nicely with WD40. This intake sounds normal at cruising speeds, but when you put the pedal down, it sound like you have flowmasters under the hood and it freaks people out. I used K&N for years on my turbo charged imports and trucks and this time I wanted to try something new. True Flow's website has some good info. Also installed athrottle body spacer.

Damn you! I was just getting over the "mod" bug.

This intake peaks my curiousity. When you say it "sounds like flowmasters under the hood" is that an annoying sound or a deep rumble? Also are you considering a full cat-back exhaust or just swapping out the muffler?

I looking into a full catback system, haven't decided which one. I know I want a full stainless. When I had my imports I had this guy in florida make a full exhaust system out of stainless and every piece was flanged, so bolt on application was a snap. Unlike the muffler joe smoe mechanic doing your exhaust. He had a metal fabricator create his exhaust systems for customers. I haven't called him yet, but soon I will ask how much he will charge or even if he will do it for a Tahoe. The money is still green and he is not cheap. He uses most aftermarket mufflers and stuff, but most of the imports I had I used the dynomax mufflers he sold. http://www.cmperformanceexhaust.com/

www.truckcustomizers.com has the better price for XDI systems.

During normal driving you can hear very little noise. When you put the pedal to the floor the little noise becomes arumble to a roar, or anytime
youwant quick acceleration.

If I did not have the mod bug like everyone else, then I would have just gotten a new tube and a new filter. I told my wife I hada virus, the mod bug,
she said what? The only way itcould be curedwas the cool factor. So, she said will this cure cost 500.00 + dollars.

As I indicated about the exhaust system on my last post above, I contacted Certified muffler and he said he did not have anything set up for any Tahoes, but if someone in the Ft. Lauderdale area wanted to come in and have him build a custom exhaust, then he could do it. He will then make a Jig to be able to fabricate future Tahoe owners wanting a custom stainless exhaust system. He can also make exhaust systems with flanges so they will match up perfectly for the DIY setup. He uses thermal research mufflers. Realize, this is a custom shop, he makes everything he sells, except the mufflers and cats. He has a mandrel bending machine and can make exhaust pipes out of his shop. So if you want a large diameter pipe bigger than what you already have, he can do that.

Five years ago he made me a full 3" inch exhaust for my Mitsubishi GST and it came in five pieces, all flanged and fitment was perfect. I did not have to take it to a muffler shop. All the flanged pieces bolted up right to each other. The factory pipe was 2" pipe, but after putting on a 20G turbo and other accessory mods, I needed a new exhaust.

Something to think about.
