Default 08 Suburban parasitic draw

Hey guys, battery started dying pretty quick after jumping it, after most shut downs I couldnt start it most times, just a click sound. Did a volt test pulling fuses and found that the RDO 15A fuse under the hood was the only fuse pulling like 2.19 amps. Pulled the stereo and the plug furthest pass side out of 4 is the culprit. Has anyone experienced this or any ideas on what exactly would be the specific issue? I did notice what looked like water stains on top of the deck and in the back it seemed like it spilled down the back to the area where the pass side plugs are. The Burban has 186k miles on it, ive owned it for maybe 4 months now. Thanks for any help

I believe your Burb 5.3 has the PCV system located under the intake manifold. Your plug, that seems to be an issue, would be cylinder # 8, but unless your Chevy is leaking coolant it should not cause this issue, when the vehicle is not running. I would have the battery checked out as it might be old or defective. If it is in good condition, then we will have to investigate further. I would certainly put a scan-tool on it to see if you have any OBD II codes. They can do that for free at a parts store, or if you haven't one, some are quite inexpensive for the basic models. They even have some that attach to your OBD II port under the dash, and send information via Bluetooth to your smartphone.app.

Thanks for the reply oilcanhenry. I dont show any codes on my scan tool. I have that 1 plug out of my radio and as of this morning she started up with no issues. As soon as I plug that plug back into the radio my volt meter reads 2.19 volts. I am gonna test the battery here in a bit to see if its good or not.

CD stuck in the player? That will cause a power draw.

Well I went to start it and battery was dead sitting at 9.56 volts or so. Decided to take it again to oreillys to have it checked. First time truck was running. The guy this time said it was bad. Come to find out it was the wrong battery to begin with. Was in when I bought the truck. Anyways they swapped it for free and so far so good. Thanks for y’all’s help
