Default 08 Suburban Third Row Seat Stuck Down

G'morning all-

I rarely fold it down as in the past it was tricky to get back up (not sure what I "right" did to get it up).

Now after 10 + minutes of struggling, it won't let me pop the back up. Its left side seat works just fine.

I've puledl the seat out and re-insterted,etc. nothing works

ANy suggestions on this are greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!!

Tom

Work both lock levers (the release and the seat back). If it is not locked to the floor, the seat back will not raise.

one of my 3rd row seats was stuck up, the lever did not do anything. I ended up taking it to the dealer and $130 later they fixed it. they had to take it apart while in the truck the reinstall one of the wire pulls and all works now.

I checked in your owners manual and in section 1 it has a lot of information for both the center and rear seating positions and how fold/tumble them. The information starts on page 12 and goes through to 18/19 or so. It also states rather prominently that if the seat is not completely locked down to the floor then the seat back will not come up. If you did tumble the seats forward I would check to make sure there isn't anything that is blocking the locking mechanisms from locking to the floor. If checking the floor for obstructions and checking through the owners manual it still gives you issues then I would suggest you have the vehicle checked by your local dealership. I hope that helps you.

I usually have to fold the entire seat up (vertical position) then put in back in the horizontal position with some force to make sure it is seated/locked properly.

Raise the seat verically up and slam it home into the base. That should work. Does for my 08 Burb 3rd row anyway.

Thumbs up

Thanks all-

After multiple slams/ jiggles, etc it finally came up, it still had a notch resistance but I'm good to go until next time.
I appreciate your help.

I've also had issues w/ the second row at times....seems like some refinement is in order.

Safe driving to all

Tom

Probably just has to be worked a bit (owner and truck). That's all.
Enjoy the ride!

Thank you, thank you,.....it only took 1 good slam to lock the seat in position, and it works fine now....saved a trip to the shop....
