Default 09 Suburban performance exhaust advice

I have a 2009 Suburban LT 4x4 with the 5.3 Flex. I have ordered a set of pacesetter long tube headers with the off road Y kit to connect the headers to the stock or aftermarket exhaust.

I want to know the best bang for my buck. Should I delete the cat and just swap out the stock muffler to get full performance out of the LTH's or do I need to open the exhaust with an full aftermarket system?

Also what is the best option for exhaust ? Flo-Pro, Dynomax, MagnaFLow. I would like it to sound a little meaner but not obnoxious.

Thanks in advance for the input.

Welcome to the forum.

First, removing the cats (there's three) is a real bad idea. Unless the headers have a provision for the pre-cats, your ECM is not going to like it.

For sound, try the vendor's websites as most have recordings available. Good luck.

Default exhaust

From my readings on here; when the engine switches from V8 to V4 and back, I've read it's much more noticeable sounding with a non OEM exhaust.

You may also want to google that before installing anything, to know what the results will be.
