Default 0w30 / 5w30 engineoil

Time to make an oil and filter change in my Suburban 5,3 FFW -03
I go on the AC Delco PF46 oil filter and a fully syntetic engine oil but the easyest to find here in Sweden is 0w30. The recomendation in ovners manual says 5w30
Is it ok to go on a 0w30 oil to these engines?
My old Tahoe 5,7 -96 i always used fully syntetic 5w40 maybe go for the same oil in the Sub?

Depends on temperatures you will see. Personally I wouldn't use the 0W30.

x2. not sure exactly sure of the climate there, but here in hicksville we get extreme hot to extreme cold and you can't go wrong with what the manufacturer suggests.

I think Sweeden is about the same height as Wisconsin so I would go with nothing lighter then 5W30

The salesmen i talked with just had 0w30 in store and talked about lower fuel consuption and how great the oil was and that almoust every european cars is recommending 0w30 now even my Volvo V70 Diesel should have 0w30 but i uses 5w40 in that one when i sceptic to thin oils.
I will try to find a good 5w30 oil for the Burb.

The only difference between 5-30 and 0-30 is the 0-30 moves faster through a cold engine. At operating temerature the oil is exactly the same. I use 0-30 in the winter time and I do not change it until it needs to be changed not when summer hits. You will be pefectly fine using the 0. I would not recomend using the 5-40 though

You´r right about that. at the high temperatures bouth are 30 oils. I didnt think about that so the seller maybe isnt wrong about using the 0w30 even that the spec in user manual says 5w30.
Maybe found Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 in Germany to a nice price but its all up to shipping fees. Waiting on a reply on the shipping and handling costs from there. Even the GM Dexos2 5w30 had a realy low price in Germany so I hope for sheap shipping.
