Default 1 year without running

Hello everyone!

This is my first post. Please excuse me if this is the wrong location for this thread. I have searched the forums but haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for...

I recently purchased a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe. The former owner stated that he probably only put 200 miles on it in the previous year.

It runs, but when I am driving at a speed of 55-65, there is a skip or a miss. It feels as if it is coming from the transmission, but I could very well be wrong.

I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered a problem like this or if anyone has any advice at all on how I may be able to get this vehicle back to road worthy status.

Thanks and any information/advice is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum..
If you have not already, I would start with a clean tune up...
Make sure the plugs are gaped correctly...
replace the distributor cap and rotor as a set
use a quality set of plug wires, and use wire spacers to keep the wires off of the exhaust manifolds and to prevent cross firing...
