Is that the correct firing order? If so when did they change from 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2?

Yes sir, 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 is straight out of the manual for a 2007 5.3L flex fuel engine. Its possible it changed when they went with the AFM engine
