Default 1990 Suburban axel removal

I have a 1990 sub with the limited slip rear end. It developed a leak ina rearwheel seal. I have pulled the diff cover off and can see 2 C clips holdin the split axels in place. How the hell do you get those clips off so I can remove the axels?
Thanks,
Matt

Default RE: 1990 Suburban axel removal

There is a small bolt holding the center pin in place, rotate the carrier until u see that bolt, remove it and the large center pin should slide out alowing u to push the axels in one at a time. When u push the axel in the c-clip almost always just falls out.
Reverse to install.
