Unhappy 1993 chevy 350 knocking sound during acceleration
If I retard the timing, the noise goes away but I lose power. Sounds like octane ping but louder than I remember. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try using a higher octane gas for a tankful to see if the problem goes away.
