Default 1993 suburban stereo help

Hey guys just got a '93 Suburban. The guy I got it from had a really crappy deck in it. So I get the dash panel off and find the guy duct taped the wires together So I figure he was just low on money. But upon further investigation I found that as far as I can tell the factory wiring harness is completely missing The power for the deck was provided via a wire ran directly to the battery which I disconnected and set off the car alarm in the process. So I'm asking...how do I go about finding the remainder of the harness?

Hahahaha! I had almost the same thing. The radio received constant hot all the time. What I did which was much easier was to run all new speaker wire front and then patched it into the driver door sill for the speakers in the rear. Made a ground strap to run to the metal contacts on the bottom of the instrument cluster and ran power from the auxiliary fuse panel, which I am sure you have also. When you run your amp you can use the same fuse panel for power and ground at the same place. Running separate speakers from the amp to the rear, however you want to.

You will need two 12 volt feeds to the stereo. One that is switched on/off with the key and the other that is always on. The old harness probably had the plug cut off, but the wires most likely are still there. Look for a red wire which is switched and a yellow wire which is always on. If the are not there it is fairly easy to find wires in the dash that fill those needs.
