1994 Suburban 5.7 TBI no power
My Suburban has 180,000 miles on it. It has no power, and runs rich. I replaced the Distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coolant temp sensor. I did have a problem with it surging at idle but a EGR solenoid fix that problem. Just recently I drove it 15 miles, stopped to fill the tank the it would not start could not check for spark but I know It was getting fuel. After it sat for a while it started up and ran but still no power.
I plan on checking the timing, and hooking up a scanner, I get a check engine light once I has been running for a while. I suspect a o2 sensor. I also plan on checking for a restricted exhaust with a vacume gauge.
I won't be able to check it all out until I get back on the first , so let me know if you have any ideals. Thanks

Finally got back to working on the suburban. I found it was leaking by the fuel presure regulator, causing it to run rich. Once that was fixed it still had a miss found a few bad plugs. Now it has more power but still horrible acceleration. I now have a check engine light on code 32 egr system problem not sure what is causing it yet. I plan on checking the timing as well. If I can find a compression gauge I will check the cylinder compression.
Got the timing set that fixed the lack of power. The timing was retarded 10 or more degrees. When I tried to set the timing my timing mark was jumping all over the place, one I tried a different timing light it was steady and allowed the timing to be set.
