Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 1995-2005 Tahoes

Hey, im looking for a Tahoe for around $6000. Ive been looking through craigslist and all ive been finding are the truck around 150000 miles+ around my price range. My dad keeps warning me not to buy this car not so much because of the gas but because i can only afford the ones with high mileage. Are bigger SUV's like the tahoe really that much more expensive to fix than a sedan? I wanted to get a car closer or under 100000 miles but i love the size of the tahoe. Any suggestions on another car would be great.

Probably easier to work on than your standard FWD sedan but more hardware w/ 4WD. Another axle and diff. plus the transfer case.

That being said, I've heard of well-maintained Tahoes/Suburbans/Yukons going 200K.

Good luck on your search.
