Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 1995 Suburban 2500

I have had this truck for about 4 years. 2500 454 TBI 2 wheel drive. This issue has been present the entire time of ownership.
I have what I assume is a microcracked cylinder wall. It runs hot, maybe 190 to 220, but not super hot unless it is climbing a grade.
I have replaced all the cooling system components, everything, and found hydrocarbon gasses in the coolant. No oil and water mixture in the crankcase or cooling system, just gasses in the coolant.
I Live in Arizona so the ambient temp effects this problem greatly. In the winter it's almost normal, in the summer it is a little worse but can be driven normally except for avoiding steep grades.
Is this a ticking time bomb?
Is the engine actually running at the water temperature or it's the water being superheated above the actual engine temp?
I like the truck and will drive it until it blows up, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what to expect. I have put at least 20k on the truck since I bought it and the problem has always been present.
Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this problem.
